Passionate, empathetic and fiercely determined. These are some of the words that describe Infer Khalid’s personality in a nutshell. Working hard at both school and college to make the best out of opportunities awarded to her, Infer experienced leadership and crises management when the responsibility of heading the school Students’ Council was placed upon her shoulders.
At high school she was a member of the Student Government and the Dean’s Honor Code Committee which taught her not only how a leader is born but also integrity which comes with being honest about one’s intentions in every endeavor you undertake in life. Her unwavering commitment to academic achievement not only secured a 100% merit based scholarship in university but also paved the way for her to win her high school’s highly esteemed Academic Achievement Award.
In her free time, Infer devotes her attention to spreading research based awareness regarding mental health concerns such as abuse and ways to seek therapeutic help from it. These efforts have resulted in Infer creating and managing a social media group with over 200 members which provides a safe platform for victims and survivors to come together and seek help from each other on their journeys to heal from emotional pain and trauma.
Currently studying Social Development and Policy at Habib University, Infer has been awarded an amazing opportunity this year. Over the next few months, as Infer prepares to take the next step on the road towards growth and learning, she needs your help.
She has been selected by Habib University as one of the honored candidates for a summer exchange study abroad program which will send her for a summer semester to the University of Michigan in 2017. The University of Michigan is one of the most renowned public research institutions in the world.
With instances of spending over a billion dollars on their research department (in 2009 according to the university’s financial report available online) it is evident that it has the perfect tools to teach Infer how to conduct research of the finest quality. This is something she is extremely interested in learning, along with engaging with the university’s philosophy and anthropology courses. However, she requires your assistance to help pay for the program. With Habib University supporting her through a 50% scholarship, Infer now needs to make arrangements for the remaining amount.
Please support Infer in spending a summer experiencing the academic and Meta curricular culture of her dream institution by donating to her fundraiser at:
